How to help your recovery from COVID-19

Covid-19: The Road to Recovery (CSP)

The Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP) has created a brand new animated video to give people who are recovering from COVID-19 information about how to improve and self-manage their symptoms.

The short video offers advice about the importance of keeping active during the recovery. This includes simple measures like doing low-intensity exercises little and often to rebuild strength, such as sit to stand in a chair and taking the stairs one at a time.

When you are well enough to return to work, it is vital to remain as active as possible and doing exercises at the workstation, whether this is at home or in the office. This will continue to help to build up the strength, decrease muscle tension and reduce the risk of musculoskeletal disorders, such as neck, shoulder, back and upper limb pain.

We know that recovery may take time, but it’s important to keep up with the CSP’s advice to get back to normal as quickly as possible and to help decrease the risk of injury.

Disclaimer: if anyone is worried about the progress of their recovery from COVID-19 we would recommend seeing a health professional who will be able to offer tailored advice and support.
